SOA Toolkit:SOA Life Cycle and Service Guidelines
What is it?
Our SOA Toolkit is a collection of individual artifacts that agencies can use to help make SOA a reality. This solution can supplement your existing SDLC and provide guidelines on how to identify, prioritize, model and name services consistently. It is all about providing actionable artifacts for Solution Architects to use to create re-usable services.
Why do you do it?
If you need guidelines and standards for your organization to create services.
If you need help with managing your services.
What do you get?
With our SOA Toolkit, client’s can accomplish the following:
- Establish a taxonomy of how services are categorized.
- Describes the common lexicon (e.g., layers) of services so that they can describe them in an enterprise fashion.
- SOA Design Principles: Describes the principles that all services should follow.
- Describes how candidate services are identified (e.g., Top-Down, Middle-Out, Bottom-up)
- Describes how services are prioritized, including a prioritization framework to conduct this exercise.
- Describe how services are architected and modeled (note: not intended to replace the SDLC).
- Describes conventions that services should follow so they are reusable.
